One of the things which sets off a successful sportsman's club from the rest of the pack is the scope and depth of its engagement in competitive sports. BCSA is deeply commited to encouraging and supporting its members who wish to pursue competitive events. At BCSA the following events (and sometimes, more) may be available. Depending on membership interest, some listed events may or may not be held every year.
LONG GUNS - Indoors Sporter Rifle - The Sporter Rifle League starts in September and will continue throughout the winter. It is held on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm in the indoor range. Any .22 caliber rifle, scope or open sights will do. The only restriction is that the rifle cannot weigh more than 7-1/2 pounds. The matches are postal matches held under the rules of the NYS Rifle & Pistol Association. This is a good family sport. The minimum age to participate is 12 years.
