NRA Junior Rifle

The NRA Junior Rifle Program and the Boy Scouts of America Rifle Shooting Merit Badge will be offered in January. The NRA Junior Rifle Program is open to people 12 years of age and older. This program teaches the fundamentals of shooting and firearm handling. This program will last 6-8 weeks. The program offers plenty of shooting practice. After completion of the NRA Junior Shooting Program, the Rifle Shooting Merit Badge program can be arranged for interested Boy Scouts. Class size is limited so please register early.

Shotgun / Merit Badge Courses for Jr/Sr Shooters

The N.R.A / B.S.A shotgun courses will run over five weeks. Five sessions, 3 hours each and will be taught in April and May from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday evenings. JR shooters must be 12 years of age at time of instruction. $10.00 fee will cover course materials. Pre -registation is critical. Boy Scouts will need to bring a blue card. The course will teach new and old shooters the fundamentals of shotgun shooting and safe firearm handling and cleaning in a safe environment

DEC Camp Sponsorships for Youth

Broome County Sportsmen's Association provides financial assistance for one or more youths each summer to attend a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation camp. In 2002, BCSA sponsored a 14-year old teen ,who was not a BCSA member, to go to the DEC's Camp DeBruce. For information on eligibility, please contact the club's secretary .
